Marine Life Awareness

Change starts with raising awareness.

Every safari removes plastics from our oceans & contributes real-time data to scientists tackling the greatest problems of our lifetime.

Microplastics

Plastic is the most prevalent type of marine debris found in our ocean.  Experiments
show that microplastics damage aquatic creatures as well as turtles and birds. They block digestive tracts, diminish the urge to eat, and alter feeding behavior, all of which reduce growth and reproductive output.

Overfishing

The number of overfished stocks globally has tripled in half a century and today fully one-third of the world's assessed fisheries are currently pushed beyond their biological limits, according to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations.

Ocean Acidification.jpg

Ocean Acidification

The ocean absorbs about 30% of the carbon dioxide (CO2) that is released in the atmosphere. As levels of atmospheric CO2
increase from human activity such as burning fossil fuels and changing land use (e.g., deforestation), the amount of CO2 absorbed by the ocean also increases.
